He listens carefully to her and responds to each part when she finally stopped. "Yes I am new. I do not swim, given the limited bodies of water on Vulcan suitable for this purpose. I would however be unopposed to learning. I am an ambassador but I am skilled in linguistics as well. If you so desire, we can be friends." He replies.

He didn't dodge it at all, but neither did he move to embrace her. He simply put up some mental barriers. When she let go he said, "Please ask before you touch me in the future."

It takes awhile before he pries herself off. She blinks at him as if he just slapped her and she whimpers. "Whhhy?"
