The Captain in full dress uniform is waiting at the Transportation Pad for the Vulcan Ambassador and so is Jekcor in the ... traditional black armor of her people and smiling like a Cheshire cat.
Neither are talking to each other as security members and an engineer that volunteers first is on the controls transports the newest member of Quincy to the deck.

Slowly, the Vulcan came into view, wearing a simple grey uniform. He wasn't smiling of course, but he stepped forward and introduced himself. "Greetings. I am Korvik, son of Sirok." He looked about the room with curiosity.

Within a matter of seconds, T'Sai appeared through the double sliding doors. A hiss gave away her tardiness. Her eyes glanced to the captain before taking her place beside her. Her arms fell behind her as she straightened, her gaze moving to their newest guest.

The Captain gestures him off the bad, giving him a traditional salute in greeting and being... very formal. "Welcome to the U.S.S. Quincy... I hope you will find your stay... informative and productive." she chooses words which Vulcans would find more pleasing...
...if Vulcans can find things pleasing.

Korvik took note of that, finding it very curious that a fellow Vulcan of all people would be late. Nevertheless, he introduced himself again, giving her the Ta'al.

"It is a great honor to be aboard your ship, Captain. I am certain I will complete my tasks with the efficiency expected of this role." He replied, stepping off the pad.

The Captain carefully chooses her worlds. 'I have no doubt'... emotional expression. Hm. No. She settles on, "I am sure you will be a great asset to the crew."
She gestures to T'Sai. "This is my Chief of Security, Lt. Commander T'Sai."

"I assure you that I am no security risk, and my aquarium has been cleared for space travel." he replied dryly. It's unclear if it's an attempt at humor.

The opposite Vulcan inclined her head to him before giving a quick Ta'al. "I’na’shau nash-veh odu. We are honored to have you here." (Literally "I now greet you" where 'you' is being intentionally shown respect.)

"Security members being present at new arrivals is protocol." she says with one raised eyebrow. Was he questioning her? "But I am sure you've followed all regulations. Do you need an escort until you know the layout of the ship?"

Oh, and Jekcor steps out into the limelight. "Greetings, ...Vulcan Ambassador. I'm Dalin Jekcor. Cardassian Ambassador. It is a PLEASURE to meet you." ...she chooses her words too. But totally for the opposite reaction.

"It will be quite interesting to become acquainted and learn from all of you." He replied, acknowledging both the Ambassador and Security Officer. "I would appreciate an escort, Captain. I have studied the layout of the ship but a guided tour would be most welcome and informative."

She turns her head to look at T'Sai. "I'll pass you to T'Sai's most capable hands."
... Jekcor reaches out and puts an arm around Korvik. "I would be HAPPY to help you..."

He stiffened. "If you would remove your arm, I would not be so disinclined to your company."

T'Sai's lips parted in distress but she remained stone-faced. "Vulcans aren't particularly fond of physical contact, Dalin." She stepped towards the door to lead, "Though I would expect an ambassador knows this?" She's calling you stupid. You gonna take that?
